Five Months

My little man is 5 months old! He is such a big boy! He is so sweet and so spoiled. He wants to be held all the time and I acquiesce as often as I can!
Some of the things he has been up to lately:
1. Chewing. on anything he can manage to get into his mouth
2. Drooling. like mad. he soaks all his clothes if I forget his drool bib.
3. Grabbing. his feet, Eden's hair, my necklace, Jack's ears.....etc.
4. Rolling. but only half way. he get on his side and then gives up. his big body must be too much to move.
5. Not laughing. this guy is super stoic. actually he gets really happy when he sees silly faces or some blows on his tummy, but he grunts instead of outright laughing. we are trying to find that one thing that will just make him bust up.
6. Not sleeping. he is a big cat-napper still. we work on naps everyday. he is pretty good about taking 2 naps a day, but never longer than an hour. and don't get me started on his current night routine. ugh.
7. staring. he loves to watch everything around him. he can't get enough of Eden. and he likes to watch me eat. he tracks the food from plate to mouth.
8. being a love bug. he loves to cuddle and snuggle. and i love to cuddle and snuggle, so we are both happy.

phoenix

Quite frankly, I didn't take nearly enough pictures while we were in Phoenix. We had a great time, even though it was a short weekend. Eden, Charlie and I arrived at 3 on Friday and Jordan picked us up from the airport. Eden was thrilled to see him. I wish I had a picture of her running up to him to give him a big hug. Danny came by car that evening with his father. I think they had some good bonding time on that drive.
My first flight by myself with two kiddies went pretty well actually. We had some turbulence on take off and landing and during both Eden told me she didn't like it. She wanted to get off the plane and go home. Luckily she never outright screamed and I was able to distract her with gummy bears, my new favorite travel companions. Charlie fell asleep promptly after take off; during which he looked at me with eyes the size of saucers but never made one peep. Good boy.

Eden and Benson dancing with their matching his and hers blankies. They loved playing together. They also have on matching his and hers plaid shorts. Too cute.

We got to see Baby Bela at the hospital on the day she went home. I even got to hold her. But that was a different day and I didn't have my camera that day, so Avery has those pictures. PS: Ave I need those pics!!

Ave and Charlie. He is humongous compared to Bela. In fact Bela just passed the birth weight of Charlie and she is nearly eight weeks old!! Teensie!

Just in case I didn't make it clear how huge Charlie is, here is a comparison pic! Charlie is 3 months older than Bela and about 8 lbs bigger! This pic is special because we have the exact same photo of Eden and Benson at about the same ages. Of course E and B were about the same size!! Bela got to go home right after we took this pic. She was really happy to be done with the hospital and so was her mommy.
We love Phoenix. I think if there was a job there for Danny we would have to think about leaving So Cal. But there isn't so we remain in paradise. And really I think we are just fine with that.

Livin La Vida Loca

When I was a senior in high school, Ricki Martin burst on the scene. A new latino radio station broadcast the song he sang at the Grammy's 24/7 -La Copa De La Vida. We had an open campus and my friends and I would listen to the song every day on our way to lunch. For some reason, driving around Vegas this week, I was reminded of those days. *sigh*

We have been having a grand time here at Mimi and Poppa's house. The pool has been heated for a few days and it is fantastic. The pics are a little dark, but it was so fun I decided to go ahead and post the pics anyway.

Eden and Poppa loving the warm water. These two are swimming buddies.
Family Shot. Charlie LOVED his first pool experience. He just kicked his legs and smiled his biggest smile.

What did I tell you about the big smile!!!
Charlie had another first the other day. Rice Cereal! He is liking it so far. We are basically practicing the swallow food technique, but it is going as well as can be expected I guess.

Good cereal Mom!

Eden's newest entry into the house. woof.
Gigi came down from St. George to visit us. She is such a good grandma. Charlie even fell asleep in her arms while I was out picking up Abby.
We have a couple more days here and then we are off to Phoenix. We just can't seem to get enough sun I guess!!

partly cloudy

Marsha and Johnny came to visit us this weekend and to look at some law schools. We were so excited to see them and spend some serious time down at the beach. The sun did not cooperate with my wishes. Johnny went surfing nearly every day, but when we tried to join him down at T-Street we nearly froze. We did manage to have a good time despite the lack of sunshine.
Eden went shopping with M and J and they had a great time. Of course. Look how cool Eden is with her little smirk.
We had a little dinner party at home Friday night. I found some yummy tuna steaks and we grilled them in a little thyme, garlic, lemon zest, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. So so good.
Me and Marsh whipping up a little something divine.
The group. Charlie joined us from the swing, his usual dinner spot.
Well hello gorgeous!
Love.
Sushi Plantation. Yum. Don't mind the strange man in the background. I guess he is the manager and he was buzzing around our table all night.
We had a fantastic time! Hopefully next time the sun will be out in full force.

lately

Just thought I would post a few shots of the kiddies lately. They are quite the little pals.
Eden insisted on pushing Charlie in the dolly stroller. No one was injured and both children seemingly enjoyed the experience.
I am not sure who enjoyed it more though.
Charlie or...

Eden.
