Leavin Las Vegas

hopefully not for good.

I am sad to say we are going to leave the Vegas area this very weekend. However, we are going to So. Cal and there is definitely nothing wrong with that. I am excited to get to the beach and just sit there, looking at the water. This is not a permanent move, as yet, and we will being staying at Woffinden Casa until we do find a permanent situation.

We have really loved our time in Las Vegas. My family has been so loving and kind during our invasion of their home. Here are a few things we are going to miss:

Watching shows with Papa. He is so patient and gentle with the kids. Eden is going to miss him terribly. And I am sure Charlie will feel the void.

Kisses from Abby. She is the world's best babysitter! And she has been a super auntie. She and Eden can reach insane decibels; they love to sing at the top of their lungs.

Just hanging out with Mimi! Having her around to help has been grand. And I am pretty sure Eden prefers Mimi's scrambled eggs to mine so Eden may never eat eggs again.

This special bonding time has been irreplaceable. Now it is the Woffinden grandparents turn.

Anyone would be lucky to hang out with these cuties!!

much ado about nothing

and the waiting game continues. danny has done several interviews with two different companies in so cal, but neither has given him an answer as yet. so we wait and try to be patient, something that i am definitely struggling with.
we are, however, probably going to go down to california anyway. danny's dad has been extremely busy at his law firm and has work for danny. actual paid work! so we are discussing the options. uprooting the kiddos again and all going to cal, danny going back and forth, etc. until we get a permanent job, nothing seems like the perfect choice.
in the meantime:
charlie is almost two months. he had his two month checkup a little early and he weighed 11 lbs 5 oz! i was shocked! surprisingly that is only the 50th percentile. he is 23 inches long and his head is 15 1/2 inches around. such a cutie! he is sleeping about 8 hours at night. a real champ compared to eden's sleeping habits at the same age.
eden doll is our drama queen. she has taken to much over-reaction lately. it is really hard not to laugh and we frequently hide our faces and try to take her seriously. the other day she wanted to wear her minnie mouse halloween costume. i was in no mood to make a big thing out of it, so she wore her minnie outfit to cafe rio. there were many smiling patrons at cafe rio who really enjoyed eden's mid winter choice of attire. i was among them.
pictures to come soon. and hopefully some news on the job front.

Whirlwind

After logging about 1000 miles in our trusty Rodeo we are back in Las Vegas. Yes we are crazy. Very. But we had a fantastic holiday season and since it was Charlie's first Christmas it was even more special.

We were in California for Christmas and Eden and Benson had a grand ole' time. We are certain they will be best friends in a few years. Right now they are typical two year olds and one of them usually ends up crying. But they are friends again two minutes later. Gotta love cousins.

Thanks to Mimi for outfitting us in our Christmas attire. I was especially found of Charlie's plaid pants and Eden's polka dot skirt. I may be biased but I think my kiddos are pretty adorable.

Christmas Eve at the beach. It cannot get better. Eden would not be kept out of the water even though it was pretty cold. Lucky for me Danny was willing to get in with her. This was her first boogie boarding experience and she was super into it. Love my beach baby.

Charlie's first trip to the beach was a success!! He was happy and quiet the whole time. Don't mind his slouchy mommy in this pic. He is the cutest though in his sailor white pants.

Christmas morning! Charlie got a new bouncy chair. Super cushy. He slept for hours in it. Santa is brilliant.
Eden got a tricycle from Santa. She loves it. We are still working on pedaling and steering so it is a good thing the bike came with parental steering controls. Wouldn't it be nice if Eden came with steering controls too?

Here is a cute little photo of me and the kiddos on Christmas morning after all the gifts had been opened.Christmas morning nap for Daddy and Charlie. I snapped a couple pics because they were so sweet sleeping together. I just love these two.And who couldn't love this one?? This is her first haircut. Yes she is 2 1/2. Curly headed as she is her hair has never really needed to be cut. We are hoping her hair will grow out a little less crazy after this trim. And then we were off to Utah! Eden got all dressed in her winter gear and built a snowman. She had to be coaxed a little but once she was out there she wouldn't come back in. Classic cabin photo op. Please note: There is no running water at the cabin so we hadn't exactly showered before this photo. We love to be au natural.

Charlie in the bear suit! Eden had a pink one last year and Grandma Debi got Charlie one this year. Cuteness. We rang in the new year at the cabin and went to be promptly at 12:15. We are such old people! We barely even made it to midnight. We drove home on the 2nd after making a pit stop in Lehi to see Berns and Shea! Hooray for them moving a state closer to us! Soooo happy and sooo good to see them!

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season too. Happy 08.
