ode to fathers

life and times

We haven't been doing anything super crazy lately, but I did manage to get a few pictures of some fun times. After all, the day to day is what makes up my little life. And somehow I love it. (most of the time)

the mall. Eden loves to play on the "bubble popper". Almost endless entertainment. When other kids join in the fun, Eden gets so excited she starts running laps. For those of you who know her, you know this means she is really really happy.

this is where Charlie hangs out on mall trips. such a good little guy.

moving day. my brother Johnny and his wife Marsha just moved here! i couldn't be more excited. this is Char on moving day. he was such a good boy while no one was paying attention to him. he just conked out on the floor. sweet.

the riviera. such a wonderful beach. i have really good memories of going there when i was growing up.

matching suits at the riv. these two are cute little friends.

we are off to lake powell on thursday. wish us luck. i am a little nervous. but i have made a very strict rule: life jackets must be worn all day. period. only while sleeping is one (namely Eden) allowed to remove the life jacket. period. period.

ps. father's day post coming soon. just want to take pics in sunday clothes. that way we actually all look half decent.

home?

i must admit, it is sometimes hard feeling like i have truly arrived home. but finding and purchasing my favorite flowers at trader joes does make it brighter. (peonies are my favs and they are so hard to find outside of a flower mart. these made me smile today.)

Mimi and Poppa's House

So I decided to be brave and drive to Vegas with the kids by myself. First time ever. Our drive there was splendid. We only stopped once and had perfect driving conditions. Hardly any fussing from the back seat. The drive home was miserable though. Winds coming at about 1000 mph. Cajon completely fogged in. Injuries to Eden's head (from blowing convenience store doors). But I did discover how much Charlie enjoys graham crackers. All in all, I would definitely do it again.



One of the reasons for the trip was to get the excer-saucer out of storage. After a failed attempt, Poppa felt sad for Charlie's lack of excer-saucering and offered to buy a new toy. We ended up with a jumper/activity center. A wonderful purchase Poppa. Charlie is getting even better at jumping than when he left the house.


Eden's, and I daresay Poppa's, favorite pastime. Thanks again for heating the pool. She would sleep in it I think.

Out to lunch. We treated Abby to Cheesecake Factory on the first day of her finals. She is officially a high schooler now. Wow. That makes me feel old. Almost as much as having two kids does.

Attempting to lap feed after he refused to sit in his chair any longer. He was enjoying carrots and peas. I enjoyed Miso Salmon. Yum-o.

Cousins

Austin and Sunny (Danny's older brother and his wife) were here last week with their kids and I am finally getting around to putting up a few of the pics. Shout out to Wyatt and Sky: Sorry there weren't any good ones of you two on my camera. We will have to try Grandma's.


Do you think they have enough bubbles?? Eden and Maren, Macie, and Marisa (yes triplets) had an absolute blast together. They are becoming such cute little friends.

One morning all of the girls disappeared. What were they doing? Catching things and collecting them. What were they catching?

Snails. Lots and lots of snails.

We had a great time with the cousins visitng. It does get a little crazy, a little loud, and a little crowded, but hey, that is what families are for.
