warms the cockles of my heart

this morning has been very trying on my already frazzled nerves. i have been staying up way too late watching the olympics--seriously do they have to air them until after 1am every night??--and this morning i think it finally caught up to me. charlie has been on one, so fussy and needy. i finally hit my limit about 2o minutes ago. i think i shouted or groaned loudly and then slammed the door to the room he was in. (this is not a proud moment for me. i know none of you reading this have to raise your voice. you have probably worked out a much nicer way to get out the frustration.) i then locked myself in the bathroom. after a few minutes charlie stopped crying. curious as to the cause of this sudden calm, i peeked out of the bathroom. sure enough, the door to the room was open. there i saw eden reading a story to her little brother. when i showed my face, eden told me not to be mean to charlie. i felt so sad getting the pep talk i usually give her. but i was also so happy to see my two kids together; the big sister loving her little brother so he would be happy and stop crying.
now if i can just find some way to chill out. maybe i should take up running.

part three....

which means i posted all wrong. i can never remember to post things in reverse order so they end up in the order i want them read. so start with "king triton.." and end with this post. sorry i am such a mess at formatting.

the gang (minus the kids) at the pageant of the masters. which was really amazing by the way.

meeting for lunch at fashion island. marsha works near there and so we couldn't pass up a quick trip!

sea world! eden went on this ride (which is like the teacups at disneyland) three times. and would have gone more if i had let her!

abby and i trying not to get dizzy on eden's favorite ride.

posing. what a ham.

charlie did come with us. he was just either asleep or eating whenever i had the camera out. which wasn't too often since i didn't want it to get wet.

she was a little wary of the shows after we sat row 3 at the dolphin show and got soaked to the bone. she was not happy about that. so we sat up high at the sea lion show and shamu.

shamu and family. aren't they lovely?

and then the media card on my camera was full. it did have about 700 pictures on it.

can't wait till next summer!

Work it out

We thought it would be fun to rent beach cruisers one day and take a little ride down the board walk. I would definitely recommend it.

Bike One: Eden and Mommy.

Just so you know I was there.

Bike Two: Poppa and Charlie.
Unfortunately bike two did not complete the ride as one of the riders could only tolerate it for so long. The little one must not like the salty sea breeze in his face.

Bikes Three and Four: Mimi and Abby.

Bike Five: Cami.
Bike five got the most whistles. Wonder why? ("cute legs" was my personal favorite of the cat calls.)

King Triton must be in a friendly type mood

As promised, pics of our grand adventures in San Diego. Both Marsha and Danny had to work and so they were in and out of the condo, but I did manage to get a few good pictures when the group was all together. We had a fantastic time, although I never did manage to get much of a tan.

What a way to travel! Eden couldn't possibly walk to breakfast; she is a princess!

Dad is one lucky guy. Johnny was surfing so he missed out on a fantastic breakfast of belgian waffles. Charlie was snoozing, so his daddy volunteered to stay behind. What a guy. I do love him so.

Charlie never had a shortage of laps or faces to stare at. He was content.

Getting her to pose for this picture was like ripping her fingernails off. Seriously child.

Drip castles! These are the very same memories I have of growing up. Now Poppa is building these splendid castles with my kids. Wow. That makes me feel......(fill in the blank.)

Modeling the very latest in beachwear. ALL the cool girls are wearing them. Just ignore the itchiness caused by microscopic sea animals and you too can be this cool.

Digging is such hard work! Especially for a three year old who rarely has to do anything for herself. (Including wipe her bottom.)

And the palest people on the beach award goes to.... us!

Look out Poppa! Charlie is going to get you!

Glamour shot. Maybe I should get this kid an agent!

He had way too much fun with the roll of paper towels. But the smile is priceless.

All he had to do was tell her they were going to go and find Cinderella, and Uncle Johnny was Eden's new best friend.

S'more of what? You're killing me Smalls!

This is where we are headed for a week of blissful relaxation. Because beach time with my two is always relaxing. Oh well. I am really excited to be with my whole family all at once. They are one fantastic bunch!
Will post great pics of Charlie eating sand, Eden building drip castles, and Danny and I trying to "think thin" in our swimwear.
Bom Tarde!
edit: can someone tell me how to make the hyper link cooperate!?? it keeps adding blogger.com to the beginning of my link. how obnoxious. i just want it to be www.capribythesea.com so any tech savvy friends, lend me some know-how. thanks.
