just a typical wednesday....

Last week Eden and I got to do something very special that we had been planning for awhile.

A trip to Disneyland for the big kids!

(meaning we went with her friend Simon and his mommy Amy and the little boys stayed home with a sitter!)

So we ran around and rode all the big rides!!

Soarin' over California, Big Thunder, Matterhorn, Tower of Terror (ok only Simon and I were brave enough for that one) and......

SPACE MOUNTAIN!!!

this was my all time favorite growing up

(now it is Tower of Terror-love it!)

it was sooo fun to go on it with Eden for the first time!

She loved it!

Then we drove home, picked up Charlie, changed clothes, picked Danny up at the office and

sat in traffic for 2 hours driving to L.A.

to meet up with this chica for dinner

Ice Ice Baby

The Irvine Co. hosts an annual party for the companies who rent office space in their buildings. This year they had free ice skating at the Specturm. So we mosied on down thinking Eden would probably love to ice skate. Well she did. Little did we know who else would love ice skating...

the reason i didn't skate:

i truly thought charlie wouldn't be interested and that i would need to sit it out with him

but i was mistaken.

and since danny already had skates on....

anyway. fun times.

So Thanksgiving came and went and I didn't take pictures. That may have to do with the fact that until today the only camera I had was my iPhone. But thankfully we decided to buy a camera for Christmas this year, so hopefully the caliber and quantity of pics on this blog will go up. Till then......

Birthday Boy

eden had a few requests this year:

she wanted to be ariel

she wanted me to be ursula

charlie to be flounder

and daddy to be king triton.

(don't ask why i had to be the villian)

so i tried my best to make it all happen for her.

we ran into a few problems.

for one, king triton refused to get into the spirit.

and ebay refused to let me win a bid on a flounder costume.

but ariel and nemo are good friends too.

she really enjoyed her red wig.

and my white hair.

and charlie made the cutest nemo.

so i think it was a success.

thank heaven it is all over.

I am a nickname kind of person. I give everyone nicknames. And my kids have already had so many during their short little lives. I thought I had better put them down here so I can look back and remember them in a few short years, when they will no longer tolerate being called "love bug".

So Friday night we were at the Happiest Place on Earth (with a few thousand other people) and we were thinking how nice it would be to check wait times from the line of another ride.

My sis-in-law's little sister pipes up, "There should be an app for that."

Turns out, there is.

I give you Disneyland Wait Times. If you are an iPhone user, download it now. And use it. The more the merrier, not to mention more accuracy!!

Used it today. Loved it.

Our Labor Day at the Mighty Colorado

Our friends, the Brewster's, invited us out to the Colorado River over Labor Day weekend. We had a splendid time!
