Food Glorious Food

Charlie has entered the realm of solid food. And he is loving it. Yesterday's menu:
Rice cereal for breakfast. A whole jar (stage 1) of sweet potatoes for lunch. A whole jar (stage 1) of carrots for dinner. Wow little man!

I am so behind! So a quick catch up on what we have been doing lately!

A heat wave has sent us to the pool and beach and even the backyard hose. Daddy loves swimming almost as much as these two do.

Mother's Day. Me and my love.

I am so lucky! Truly. Such a cute little family, no?

Charlie loves to grab his feet. And then stick them in his mouth. Just haven't caught a pic of the feet in the mouth yet.

Bumbo chair at the beach is a must! Charlie really loved it.

I have a HOT date tonight!
Danny and I have been married for five years today. So we are going out to celebrate. It will be the first time I leave Charlie with a real babysitter (ie non family member) Wish me luck.

A few things I love about being married to Danny:
~He can still make me laugh. And does all the time.
~He has an uncanny ability to calm me down when I get a little too carried away.
~We still find things to talk about; when we actually get to talk and the kids aren't screeching.
~I still feel safer in his arms than anywhere else in the world.

Ahhhhh.

Shamu, Moby Dick, and One Eyed Willy

There is a reason private beaches are superior to public beaches. Other than obvious, less hordes of crazies, I found a new reason to appreciate private beaches this weekend. Wildlife. Now I know that this was probably a fluke, never to happen again, but it was amazing. Whale watching from the sand of a gorgeous beach like 3 arch bay. We also saw One Eyed Willy's pirate ship, but truly the sea life was the highlight of everyones day.

Whales, dolphins, sun, sand. Could anyone ask for more?

Don't mind us, we have pale skin. We are working on that.

Drip castles. Priceless.

We guessed there was a mother and baby whale chilling just a few hundred yards from the sand. The dolphins showed up a little later. Guess there was something yummy in the water.

My Dad was at the beach with us, but of course I failed to snap any pics. He probably prefers it that way anyway. But we did have a splendid time with him.

I often wish I could stop time and keep my kids at the ages they are for just a bit longer. Charlie is on the cusp of sitting up, although he still refuses to roll, and Eden is going to be 3 in July. It races by. Before I know it, I will be dropping them off at school, begging for a hug goodbye, knowing they are embarrassed of me, but wanting that hug all the same. I just hope I don't take for granted these days when hugs are offered freely.

Charlie has discovered the very amusing crunch of magazine pages. He has entertained himself for lengthy periods more than once now.

And each time he reads Sports Illustrated. He is such a boy!!

Eden wanted to join in the fun. But mostly she was just hamming it up for the camera.

We propped little guy up in the high chair and gave him a biter biscuit during dinner last night. He was thrilled. He can't actually eat the biscuit, but gnawing on it certainly makes him a happy guy.
